Penktadienio vidurdienio duomenimis, Alytuje buvo 696 sergantys asmenys.

The bandwidth of the Alytus mobile checkpoint, which promises to test up to 240 people every 3 minutes per day, will be increased next week. This week, 21 patients applied to the Alytus Fever Clinic.

According to P.Jagelavičius, the chimneys are registered in many companies in Alytus, the municipalities appealed to their managers, urging them to cooperate in testing employees at the mobile checkpoint.

37 patients are treated in the first COVID-129 department of Alytus County S. Kudirka Hospital, 5 patients in the second department (opened yesterday). In resuscitation, three more patients with artificial lung ventilation.

The situation at S. Kudirka Hospital is of special concern to the people of Alytus, comments from Deputy Mayor Jurgita Šukevičienė:

– How many employees are sick or isolated out of the 900 existing?

– 7 doctors are sick and 6 are isolated, 8 nurses 18 and isolated, 4 nursing assistants, 8 isolated, 15 sick and 4 isolated.

– Is it far from the limit for hospital staff to have only COVID-19 beds?

– There are currently 70 and 6 resuscitations for COVID-19 beds, we hope that these beds will be enough, the situation will stabilize. We have received no further instructions to expand from Santara Clinics.

– To what extent is the hospital itself currently functioning, if we are not talking about COVID-19 beds, in the sense that only emergency care is provided to the population?

– Currently, all emergency medical care is provided at S. Kudirka Hospital in Alytus County, when beds are available in the appropriate ward, patients are hospitalized. When there is a shortage of beds in a particular ward, they are referred to other hospitals. We have: 10 cardiac beds, 10 neurological, 10 trauma, 10 surgical, 20 pediatric beds, 10 pediatric surgery beds, 20 nursing beds.

The obstetrics and gynecology department is fully operational. Also consulting outpatient clinic.

– What kind of help is provided in case of stroke, infrared, do we transport our patients to other institutions and what kind?

– Cluster services (heart attacks, stroke) in the hospital are evaluated in an extraordinary way, if necessary – adequate services are provided, patients are transported to Santar. When we have places in the hospital, patients are brought to Alytus for further treatment.

– Are planned surgical services still being provided?

– Planinės chirurginės paslaugos neteikiamos, išskyrus planines okulistines operacijas.

– What is happening now at S. Kudirka Hospital (half of Neurology and Cardiology and 2 Internal Wards, COVID-19 Ward, outpatient) means that little by little we are becoming a regional support hospital where, as we the situation deteriorates, can only patients with COVID-19 remain? Can the municipality influence this process in any way in the negotiations with the Ministry of Health so that the residents of Alytus are not left without medical help? Is it such a real threat right now?

– The next two weeks will be very difficult, the influx of patients to the COVID-19 unit will be felt, and then the situation is expected to stabilize and the benefits of the quarantine will be felt. We have not received any signals from the Santara clinics at this time that we need to expand further, there is enough capacity at the moment. Due to the establishment of COVID-19 beds in our hospital, the hospital that organizes the services decides, we as a municipality do not have much influence in this process, all this is decided in the decisions of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania – Head of State Emergency Operations.

– Are there sufficient protection measures in the S. Kudirka hospital, how many and which were transferred from the municipal reserve yesterday?

– The public institution Alytus County S. Kudirka Hospital has sufficient personal protective equipment, supply contracts have been signed. After the opening of the new COVID unit, it was decided to issue additional measures from the reserve of personal protective equipment of the Municipality of the City of Alytus, thus contributing to the good organization of work in the hospital.

On November 20, the following personal protective equipment was issued: disposable bathrobes – 300 pieces, disposable hats – 300 pieces, FFP2 respirators – 300 pieces, coveralls – 300 pieces, gloves – 1200 pairs.

– Are there enough facilities at the Alytus mobile point and how long do we have a reservation for?

– Personal protective equipment and means are sufficient. The Emergency Commission of the Municipality of Alytus City has approved the reserve of personal protective equipment in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. Currently, this reserve is accumulated, if only the institutions lacked these measures, the Emergency Commission of the Municipality of the City of Alytus would immediately make the decision to deliver personal protective equipment to those who lack them. Also at the beginning of this month, we received personal protective equipment from the Ministry of Health to ensure the operation of the Mobile Point, so there is no shortage of means or personal protective equipment.
