Election of Arūnas Pukelis, Vice President of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), LFF conference on 1 August. and finally the formation of the composition of the Ethics Committee from the lawyers of Arūnas Pukelis, exceeded the limits of decency and morality, and on November 4, the decision of the Ethics Committee adopted in 2006 not only disregarded the standards of professional work ethic, but also clearly showed that the LFF works not for the benefit of the soccer community, but for the benefit of people with criminal records and opaque businesses.
There will be no change in Lithuanian football until the faulty structure and management system of the LFF are destroyed and the clubs themselves take responsibility for the management of the federation. There will be no Pukelis, other Pukelis, Humelis, Plums or another LFF insignia, and the end result will remain the same: the LFF will remain a closed organization run by family members and a narrow circle of individuals and business groups, for whom football it will be just a tool and cover for your personal and business needs. interests.
I don’t want to be a part of such an organization, so yesterday I sent a notice of resignation from the VRFS president to the VRFS Board. I received the same requests from Artūras Žarnovskis and Kastytis Valantinas, members of the VRFS board. In view of these important circumstances, I proposed to the VRFS Board of Directors to resign in corpore and, in accordance with the VRFS Bylaws, I initiated the calling of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Partners.
I have said many times that the interests of VRFS, its clubs and members, its reputation, its democratic principles and the game of football, have always been and should always be above all personal interests or interests. I will not give up my goals and will continue to seek changes in the structures of the LFF, but it is time to look for other means and ways of working.
According to VRFS bylaws, the board must approve the date and agenda of the special meeting of VRFS members within 5 days. We are the largest, most open and transparent Lithuanian football community, so only together can we decide on the future and actions of the VRFS association.
