Dust clarifies who will pay for mandatory tests for employees starting Monday
When doubts arise about who will pay for the tests of the employees that will be carried out from Monday, Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys assures that there are still no changes. This means that the state will continue to pay for these tests.
The minister emphasized that the costs of the investigation for the investigated employees, as well as for the manufacturers, for whom the tests will take effect on September 13, will be covered by the state.
“Once again, the preventive health examination or preventive tests according to the law in our state is free and covered by the state budget. Sometimes it is confused with proving a passport, when an unvaccinated and sick person wants to have a passport for activities or events, entertainment, in which case the test must be done on your own, “said A. Dulkys before the Government meeting.
The test should not be done immediately, but within 7-10 days.
He recalled that, as a result, there are all kinds of proposals that the tests for preventive tests must be paid for by the employer or the employee himself, but that such changes must be approved by law.
When asked if the Government intends to take any further action due to the resulting “traffic jams” due to the need to begin testing workers in the manufacturing sector, A. Dulkys noted that this is only a temporary problem.
“Our experience shows that when a new group of people join testing, there is always a ‘bottle cap’ in the first few days, so I want to assure you that testing is necessary every 7 to 10 days. That is not to say that everyone on September 13. Everyone has to take the test, it can be done in 7-10 days. (…) Afterwards, everything adjusts, the rhythm stabilizes. That is why I invite everyone to be serious ” , emphasized the minister.
When asked to clarify whether employees could be screened privately for COVID-19 and then wait for compensation, A. Dulkys rejected such a possibility.
“The state has organized a test infrastructure, there are mobile points, a registration system has been introduced, so you have to use it,” he said.
The tv3.lt portal recalls that, in addition to employees in commerce, restaurants, education and other fields, preventive tests are carried out every 7 to 10 days. workers in manufacturing companies will need it too.
