I had to go to the office with two children.

During the quarantine, ESO continues with planned inspections, during which electricity is switched off for the entire working day, and the life of Go Vilnius director Inga Romanovskienė, who lives in her own home in Vilnius, has made it difficult for her to lifetime.

I. Romanovskienė 15 minutes He said that he currently works from home and that his two school-age children are also studying remotely. The first time the power supply was cut from 12 noon to 6 in the afternoon and the second time from 9 in the morning to 10 at night.

“This causes a lot of problems, because we work remotely, we try to limit social contacts as much as possible, don’t leave home, don’t go to the office.” We are completely dependent on electricity in our own home: if there is no electricity, there is no water, we are left without heating, there is no internet and children have to take lessons from a distance, ”said the director of Go Vilnius.

We are completely dependent on electricity in our own home: if there is no electricity, there is no water, we are left without heating, there is no Internet and children have to take distance lessons, said the director of Go Vilnius.

“Everything stops, neither the light nor the food can heat or flush the toilet because there is no water,” he added.

So on both days I. Romanovskiene had to take the two children and go to the office for a full day.

“I went to the office with the children. I came back, took the dog and waited again for the electricity supply to resume,” I. Romanovskien said of the inconvenience.

Neighbors of I. Romanovskienė received the same response.

According to I. Romanovskienė, the company must take into account the circumstances (the quarantine introduced in the country, the cold season) and postpone the planned work until the summer.

“If an accident happens, I really understand it, but the planned work is incomprehensible to the mind. I went to the office, but what if the person is isolated and cannot leave? And if you are raising a young child and need to heat the mixes. I have drawbacks, but there are people who would have no way out if they were in isolation with a small child, ”said I. Romanovskienė.

Representative of the company Tadas Markevičius 15 minutes stated that ESO understands that it is difficult to be without power during this difficult period, but must take care of a reliable power supply. T.Markevičius claimed that the company performs works that are unavoidable during quarantine (for example, if a tree has boiled on the power line, the power line or the transformer has failed for other reasons, critical network defects have been identified, etc.).

At the same time, however, it was recognized that the reconstruction of the electricity grid is also being carried out, which is necessary to ensure the quality of electricity and the reliability of the electricity grid.

Asked if the company could not carry out these works at other times, such as at night or on weekends, T. Markevičius explained that the reconstruction and repair work of electrical equipment is not carried out during the hours of darkness (except in the emergency work when it is necessary to restore power to customers). endangers the safety of workers.

“When planning work on the weekends, some clients are also not satisfied with why they work during their vacations, when most are at home and this creates inconvenience. It should also be noted that the work is performed by our contractors, who also plan the rest and work time of their employees. Therefore, considering the quantities and scope of the work, it is not possible to move all the work to the weekends, ”explained the ESO representative.

Then, 15 minutes After submitting additional questions about the need for scheduled work during the quarantine, ESO announced on its website that it would suspend some of the works on the gas and electricity network during the quarantine, although mainly through individual services.

ESO suspends the following works during the quarantine period:

  • Maintenance of apartment gas systems;
  • Consumer gas system conversion services (meters, stove relocation);
  • Gas metering installation service, where the installation of a metering device requires the interruption of the gas supply to other consumers as well;
  • Replacement of electricity and gas metering devices for household customers after metrological inspection, when the metering is installed inside the apartment or house;
  • Electricity and gas disconnection service for domestic customers when accounting is installed inside an apartment or house.

The company did not specify whether the planned reconstruction works of the electricity grid will continue, during which the electricity supply to the population will be disconnected.

“During quarantine, ESO performs only the work necessary for the reliability of the electricity and gas distribution network or for customers to eliminate major network defects, failures, connection of new customers in order to avoid other unexpected disconnections of electricity and gas pipelines “
