According to Daiva Razmuvienė, an epidemiologist at NVSC, although there are recent favorable trends in the assessment of COVID-19 outbreaks recorded across all sectors, business enterprises stood out positively last week.

“The current situation shows once again how important and significant the vaccination process is, which can slow the spread of the infection. This is reflected in the numbers, both in terms of the total number of new COVID-19 cases detected each day and the outbreak.

However, it is very important not to dwell on the current encouraging trends. It is necessary to maintain a rapid vaccination rate to increase the number of people immune to this infection. Therefore, I urge all those who have not yet been vaccinated not to hesitate and choose the opportunity to live differently than we have lived for the last year and a half, ”says D. Razmuvienė.

According to her, the vaccination rates in the municipalities, as the data show, correlate very clearly with the epidemiological situation. In other words, where vaccination rates are higher, the epidemiological situation is much better.

For example, in the municipality of Neringa, which, after vaccinating more than 80 percent. population, the rate of vaccination is leading in Lithuania, there have been no new cases of COVID-19 in recent weeks.

The same favorable trends are seen in the municipality of Birštonas, where recently there have been no COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates are among the highest in the country. At that time, for example, in Alytus district, Akmenė district municipalities, where at least one dose of vaccine greater than 53% was vaccinated. population, isolated cases of coronavirus infection were reported in June.

The commercial sector stood out

Last week in Lithuania by 65 percent. the number of active outbreaks registered in commercial enterprises decreased. His epidemiologists recorded eight, down from 23 in the previous week. Also in the 23rd week of the year, more than 80 percent. Agricultural business specialists reported fewer outbreaks: An active COVID-19 outbreak was recorded late last week, compared to six outbreaks the previous week.

In addition, significant – almost 60 percent. The second week of June saw an abrupt break in the outbreak curve in the logistics and transportation sectors, where five active outbreaks of COVID-19 were recorded last week, compared to 12 a week ago.

Outbreaks in manufacturing, as well as furniture manufacturing and sales, were reduced by one third compared to weeks 22 and 23. At that time, there was a decrease of more than one fifth in the number of active outbreaks of coronavirus infection in educational institutions, food industry, construction and service sectors.

At the end of last week, a total of 138 active COVID-19 outbreaks were recorded in Lithuania, compared to 212 in the previous week, 331 in week 21, 386 outbreaks in week 20, and 448 outbreaks in week 19 .
