“One of the measures will be the blocking of municipal centers, as was the case on St. Easter weekend,” Renatas Požėla, general commissioner of the Lithuanian police, told BNS on Sunday.

According to him, on Monday it is planned to discuss alternative measures with the leadership of the Interior Ministry.

“What other alternative measures will be used, we still have some time, we will probably decide tomorrow. I think tomorrow we will have clarity,” said the police chief.

“We will develop those algorithms, but the essential thing is that people will have to demonstrate that if it happens, they comply with the requirements established in the Government Resolution. We will communicate, we will talk about the fact that people would not just drive without the necessary need, and everything, ”said R. Požėla.

According to the police chief, to help block the roads, as in St. On Easter weekend, it is planned to use the Military Police and also shooters.

“We probably have no other way, because in addition to the implementation of quarantine measures, no other police functions have been and will not be taken from us. We will also have to perform our normal functions, so we must allocate capacity accordingly so as not to jeopardize the response to public reports, public order. The support of colleagues is vital here, ”said the Commissioner General.

According to VŽ, the government decided on Sunday that it will be forbidden to go out of its municipality as of Wednesday, unless you go to work, to a funeral, to receive the necessary medical attention or to own a home in another municipality.

Within the municipality, the house can be left alone if there is an important need, it will also be possible to walk in open areas, but only for a family or a household.
