Rolanda Lingienė, head of the Vilnius department of the National Center for Public Health (NVSC), says the number of new coronavirus cases announced on Friday will once again be a record. The Ministry of Health announces that there are up to 281 cases of this type per day.
“Unfortunately, today’s record will exceed yesterday’s,” R. Lingienė told LRT television.
“We probably have a lot of records in the next period, we don’t see any reason not to reach them,” said the specialist.
He stated that in the last day there were no cases of coronavirus only in Alytus County, which means that the spread is recorded across the country.
According to R. Lingienė, fireplaces in nursing homes are expanding: yesterday about 30 cases were recorded in Blinstrubiškės nursing homes, a new fireplace appeared in Marijampolija nursing homes. In Vilnius there are many cases involving entertainment venues and sports clubs. About 70 cases are related to dance studies, about 40 to other sports activities.
It maintains that the conditions for the spread of the coronavirus are favorable at present, since “we live an active social life and we return to the premises.”
“This creates very good conditions for the virus to spread and be transmitted,” said a specialist from the Center for Public Health.
The highest number of coronavirus cases to date is 255, it was reported Thursday.
