In a meeting on Wednesday, the government decided to extend the quarantine until June 16 inclusive. The Cabinet of Ministers also approved four epidemiological criteria that will determine when the quarantine can be lifted.
Quarantine is expected to be lifted if the total incidence of Covid-19 in the past 14 days is 100,000. the population would not increase if there were no more than 0.5 percent of all positive inspection cases, if no more than five import cases were detected per week, and if at least 90 percent of new cases were related to points existing local hot.

The Cabinet of Ministers has also lifted the restriction on meeting in public places for groups of no more than five people since early June. It also means being able to play street basketball, soccer, and other outdoor games.
In addition, at the request of businessmen, the government extends the opening hours of restaurants, cafes, nightclubs and other catering establishments to 11 p.m. Until then, these facilities could operate from 8 a.m. at 10 p.m.

Massive events in the summer
The government finally approved the procedure already discussed last week for the gradual relaxation of the permit for massive indoor and outdoor events.
Starting June 1, events for up to 300 participants will be allowed in open spaces and events in closed spaces for up to 100 people.
Starting June 16, events are allowed for up to 500 participants in open spaces, from July 1 – up to 700 participants, from July 16 – up to 900 participants. At that time, events with 150 spectators can take place in the closed spaces from June 16, from July 1 to 200, from July 16 to 250, from August 1 to 300, from 16 to 350 participants.
Sports events are subject to the same conditions as other events. In open spaces, they can be held when no more than 300 spectators and participants gather, ensuring at least one meter distance between the spectators. In confined spaces, no more than 100 spectators and participants, a distance of two meters between spectators is guaranteed.
As of May 30, events are already allowed in open and closed spaces, but a maximum of 30 people can attend and the required distance between them must be maintained.

Starting on June 1, the border with Latvia will be fully opened, which means that the checkpoints and posts that have been operating so far will be abolished.
It was also agreed at the meeting that from June 1, people from the countries of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be able to enter or return to Lithuania. The essential condition is that in these countries the incidence of coronavirus in the last 14 calendar days did not exceed 25 cases per 100,000. population.
According to Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, the two-week isolation requirement will be negotiated together with Latvia and Estonia.
The Ministry of Health must publish weekly the list of countries from which people will not be isolated. According to S. Skvernel, Iceland, Slovenia, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Norway, Hungary, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Austria could now request such a list.
The quarantine was introduced in Lithuania on March 16.
