NVSC spokeswoman Justina Petravičienė informed BNS that the specialists intend to go to the nursing home.

“Specialists will go to this fireplace. When we have a larger outbreak, it is common practice to prevent the spread of the disease,” said J. Petravičienė.

The NVSC reported Monday that 18 cases of this new outbreak were detected in patients and one in an employee during preventive tests.

According to J. Petravičienė, epidemiologists do not yet have information on whether the patients were vaccinated against COVID-19, but it is known that the affected employee received a dose of the vaccine.

The institution does not answer questions

Addere Nursing Home did not respond to specific questions from BNS about those infected and sent a general comment stating that 24 patients had been vaccinated.

“Vaccinations of patients at the institution were carried out in January and February as planned and 24 patients are currently vaccinated. We vaccinate newly admitted personnel and patients according to the established procedure, ”the institution told BNS.

Its manager, Alma Pundziūtė, promised to answer specific questions several times, but did not.

Addere says that nursing home patients and staff are constantly tested for the coronavirus and the spread of the infection is monitored.

The nursing home also says it has taken the necessary measures to control the spread of the infection, says it is receiving not only healthy patients but also those infected with COVID-19.

“We have installed a completely isolated COVID-19 patient room at the institution. The infected hosts are completely isolated and separated from the healthy ones, and only the personnel assigned to that department work with them ”, says the institution.

According to the comment, the institution is divided into nine sections with separate entrances, each with separate leisure and restaurant areas, and the rooms are single or double only.
