During his studies, he was embarrassed to work in a provincial company.

Biržų duona, who has been in the Kurganovi family for 21 years, has been growing almost all these years: turnover fell by half a percent during the 2009 crisis alone.

Kurganov recalls that the sense of pride in the company began to rise in 2012, having left the stage in the past when working in a difficult provincial bakery did not seem like a commendable achievement in public.

“I remember that when I studied a master’s degree in 2005-2006, many of the friends in my group worked at Omnitel, in Bite, and I came from the province. Probably no one had even heard of Biržų duona, so it wasn’t that he had low self-esteem, but there was a feeling in my heart that he wasn’t Omnitel yet. After that, in 2012, I could already be proud of what we created, ”said A. Kurganov.

It is true that Dad always viewed children’s achievements in moderation and did not listen to them too much, so there was never any official talk about him handing over business management to his son. However, Kurganov says that he didn’t even think it could be otherwise.

“I may say more criticism, but I have received the comments that Dad is proud and thanks me. And the relatives, I know, have been told how many companies there are that children do not want to take over. I think in his heart He is very happy that I was 100 percent involved, I participated everywhere, I never sailed on the surface, ”says the successor who became the CEO of Biržų Duona in 2018.
