Not all interbank payments will go through correctly on holidays – some customers will be able to transfer money instantly

According to SEB Bank media representative Ieva Dauguvietyt representative-Daskevičienė, Elta will be able to make instant payments without interruptions from December 24 to 26 and January 1, when funds of up to 15,000 euros are available. Instant payments will be available for transfer to accounts at Swedbank, Citadele, Šiaulių bankas, Paysera LT, and many foreign banks that accept this type of payment.

SEB also reported that SEB bankas customers will be able to receive funds from another bank during the holidays if the sender’s bank also provides an instant payment service.

If the amount transferred exceeds 15,000 euros, the funds will be transferred to a bank that does not accept instant payments or will be in a currency other than the euro, the money will be credited to the beneficiary’s account the next business day after the holiday.

Funds to and from accounts at SEB Bank (if both the payer and the beneficiary are clients of the bank) will be transferred as usual and credited immediately.

Meanwhile, Swedbank spokesman Saulius Abraškevičius pointed out to Elta that December 24-27, as well as January 1-3, are non-working days in Lithuania, so Swedbank will not carry out all interbank transfers in these. days.

However, instant payments will be available every public holiday on accounts of SEB, Šiaulių bankas, Citadele, Paysera or other payment institutions connected to the instant payment system.

Swedbank remembers that an instant payment is made if it is sent through the Swedbank smart application or by selecting the “New transfer” form in the Internet bank, the amount of the payment does not exceed 15,000 euros and no confirmation is required by a second person .

The Swedbank representative also points out that transfers within Swedbank will run as usual.

Meanwhile, Luminor Bank announces that from December 24 to 25 and January 1, no transfers in euros and other currencies will be made to other banks registered in Lithuania and foreign countries. Nor will transfers be made on weekends.

However, these days, intra-bank transfers will be processed normally.
