He first went to the reception department of the Klaipeda Marine Hospital. However, when he got there, he was told that there was no one to help at the time.

“The nurse who came when she said that we have no doctors at the moment and that we cannot help him with anything, so go to another hospital (the nurse saw that the blood is running very hard),” said G. Venckutė.

The girl decided to go to the Klaipeda University Hospital. At that time, as G. Venckutė says, blood came out of his nose for about an hour.

“The nurse said turn my head up and come in, I said that if I bend over, everything runs into my mouth and I find it difficult to breathe. They told me to “run away and pass” and I laughed at the same thing, “said G. Venckutė.

Soon the girl was invited to have a blood test and a cardiogram.

“The first nurse tried to draw the blood, she was unlucky, so she called another. The second also failed, so he asked for another until finally at least one got it. The second nurse stabbed also added that we are doing it for you.

Both hands glued together, blood still running, they told me to travel to reception again. During the time that I was sitting the entire time, they never asked me to ask if everything was okay, nor did I do anything about the bleeding, ”shared G. Venckutė.

A little later, the girl says that she was approached in an ambulance and taken to another room where she was prescribed an ointment. The blood had already stopped flowing by that time.

“In total, the blood ran for two hours and I think it’s really not good and a lot of blood came out,” said G. Venckutė.

G. Venckutė says he has written complaints to both hospitals.

The hospital comments that all the health institutions of the city of Klaipeda have signed an agreement and approved a schedule on which days of the week and which hospital provides emergency care of one or another profile in order to guarantee optimal management of the flows of emergency medical patients and that services are provided to patients in a timely and high-quality manner.

“Under this agreement, Klaipeda Seamen’s Hospital provides emergency care for blood diseases, heart surgery, and vascular surgery every day of the week, accepting patients for acute ischemic stroke or heart attack.

Neurological, gynecological, internal medicine or general surgery emergency care is provided on Thursdays at Klaipeda Seamen’s Hospital.

We regret that the patient did not go to the ambulance doctors, who, in case of urgent need, know to which hospital to transfer the patient to provide the necessary and qualified assistance, ”writes Klaipėda Seamen’s Hospital.

G. Venckutė told the tv3.lt news portal that Klaipėda Seamen’s Hospital had not heard such information that it was necessary to call an ambulance.

Klaipėda University Hospital confirms that G. Venckutė visited the hospital for nosebleeds. According to the hospital’s chief physician, Eugenijus Zalagėnas, the patient had arrived at the emergency department.

The examinations remained unchanged and the patient was then consulted by an otolaryngologist, who stated that the patient was not bleeding from the nose at that time, diagnosed a nasopharyngeal infection and prescribed the planned treatment and provided recommendations, ”E Zalagėnas writes.
