The Ministry of Health has updated the list of countries whose citizens or persons legally residing there can enter Lithuania. If the epidemiological situation in Spain deteriorates, the entry of foreigners from this country will be prohibited from Monday, and returning Lithuanian citizens must remain isolated for 14 days.
The same procedure as for Spain applies to Luxembourg, Romania, Sweden, Bulgaria, Portugal and Croatia.
Isolation is also mandatory for all arrivals from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland.
The list, approved by decision of the Operations Manager, will take effect on Monday, July 27 and will be updated next week.
The Department of Health (SAM) recalls that this procedure applies to foreigners from countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland.
As a reminder, as of Monday (July 27), the countries affected by coronavirus infection will be those with a morbidity rate of more than 16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. The morbidity rate is being reduced to coordinate border opening policies with the other Baltic States and the European Union.
The incidence of coronavirus infection in Lithuania has increased from 2.8 to 3.7 during the week, but we remain on the list of reliable countries. This means that Lithuanian citizens, as before, can come from any country.
