Landsberg told reporters at the Seimas on Wednesday that he had agreed with the foreign ministers of the other Baltic states that there would be a joint flight from London to Riga. The specific airport from which the flight will take place in the UK capital will be announced at a later date.
Transportation will be arranged from Riga to Lithuania. The flight will be paid. Pricing is still unclear.
Returnees must have a negative COVID-19 test no later than 48 hours before the flight or be in isolation for 10 days.

Returning Baltic citizens will be coordinated by the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian embassies in the UK.
“The main point is probably that it is a humanitarian flight. In other words, the list of returnees will first take into account the health circumstances and the specific situation of those people. Because it is still a limited number of seats. The status of health would probably be one of the most important criteria ”, explained the foreign minister.
Speaking of the circumstances relating to their health status, G. Landsbergis indicated that it would be assessed whether the non-return of these persons to Lithuania could harm their health.
For example, it could be a talk about a planned operation in Lithuania and the like.
Landsberg said dozens of people signed up for the flight. However, this number is constantly changing.
“The fundamental thing that we talk with colleagues and what I will speak now with foreign colleagues is the criterion of humanity. Main Thing. Let’s look at these cases humanely. Due to the small number of those places. Those people who have the opportunity to wait for those days will ask for a lot of patience and they will wait. The discussion on January 1 and the possibility of resuming commercial flights thereafter will take place after Christmas. We will call colleagues and discuss this. I do not rule out the possibility that these flights will resume, “said the Foreign Minister.
Those people who have the opportunity to wait those few days will ask for a lot of patience and will wait.
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė told reporters at the Seimas that she was cooperating with other Baltic states to have a part of the UK returned in the near future.

“Of course, the priority is children, mothers with children, pregnant women, of course, there is probably a humanitarian queue there. At the same time, the embassy assesses and registers all applicants. If we see that additional solutions are needed, it will be those additional solutions. Again, as in the case of the quarantine, we monitor the situation as required, ”explained the Head of Government.
According to I. Šimonytė, exactly when flights can be made to transport trapped citizens is not entirely up to us. However, specific dates will be announced.
