“One of the conditions for isolation is facilitated: people who have to isolate themselves when they return from abroad find it easier to isolate themselves, they can leave their place of isolation and walk, for example, and walk a certain distance of no more than one kilometer, but they are not allowed to walk to mass gatherings, that is, to shopping malls, restaurants, cafes and the like, “Rolanda Lingienė, head of the NVSC Vilnius department, said at a press conference.

Whether a person needs to be isolated when returning from abroad will depend on the person’s original point of travel. This means that if a person has evidence that they are traveling from a country from which isolation is not applied upon their return or arrival, they will not have to isolate themselves even if they have traveled through other high incidence countries, but only if there has been no stay for business or other purposes. However, if the traveler does not have such proof, they will be subject to measures based on the last country visited, from which they will come directly to Lithuania.

He also said that returnees from abroad would no longer be tested for coronaviruses and could travel to the isolation area by any means of transportation, no more municipal transportation.

The Ministry of Health published a list of countries from which foreigners can enter on Monday, which includes 27 states. Reaching 24 of them will not require two weeks of self-isolation.

Under the current procedure, if the number of COVID-19 cases in a foreign country during the last 14 days is 100,000. the population will be 15 to 25, the citizens of that country can come to Lithuania, but 14 days of isolation are required. If the number of cases does not exceed 15 cases per 100,000. Citizens of these countries not only can enter but also do not need isolation.
