A patient at Druskininkai Hospital was diagnosed with COVID-19
“I have just received news about another case of COVID-19: the disease was diagnosed in a patient from Druskininkai hospital, who came to the complex from Vilnius.
So far, all I know is that a woman of respectable age was hospitalized Sunday for heart problems.
Like all patients, he underwent a test for COVID-19 in general, the results of which reached us today ”, announced R. Malinauskas on his Facebook account.
To his knowledge, a woman came to the complex from Vilnius to shop at the Druskininkai market. All information on this case has been transmitted to the National Center for Public Health; their specialists are collecting data on women’s contacts.
Druskininkai Hospital is now also investigating who among the staff had contact with a sick woman.
A woman with COVID-19 will be transported to Vilnius, an infectious hospital.
The virus spreads in the municipality
“It has been confirmed that three more specialists from the municipal administration have a coronavirus, sick employees isolate themselves and their health is managed remotely by doctors,” the mayor of the complex, Ričardas Malinauskas, previously announced.
According to the mayor, direct patient contacts are already being clarified, employees are being screened and until results are obtained, they are isolating themselves.
“I and other municipal leaders also interacted with sick employees last week, so we are currently isolating ourselves, working from home, and we will be tested for coronavirus,” said R. Malinauskas.
Most of the employees of the Druskininkai municipality administration work from home, residents receive services remotely.
Depending on the external contacts of the patients, it will be decided how the investigation circle will be expanded and what will be needed to control the coronavirus among Druskininkai officials.
Due to the coronavirus in the Druskininkai administration, no cases occurred, the municipal council meeting was canceled.
