The municipality has announced that so far COVID-19 has been established for an employee, and urgent investigations are being carried out on all the colleagues of the infected person. Answers are expected by Friday night.
Rolanda Lingienė, director of the Vilnius department of the National Center for Public Health, confirmed this case to BNS on Friday.
“The employee tested positive for COVID-19 during the preventive tests. She doesn’t feel any symptoms, ”said Rolanda Lingienė, Vilnius department director at NVSC.
According to her, a total of 142 employees were prophylactically evaluated, of which about 50 received responses.
Four staff members and five patients had contact with the patient; they were isolated.
“Five patients had to be further examined, but the hospital decided to test 32 patients,” said R. Lingienė.
A worker who has a positive COVID-19 sample is in strict isolation. Samples will be taken again after 7 days.
The work of the Hospital Admissions Department is being suspended.
According to the municipality, to avoid the possible spread of COVID-19, the Ignalina District Hospital is changing the working hours of health professionals.
Patients from other treatment facilities will not be admitted to the nursing and therapy rooms on a temporary basis, but not less than until the following Friday, and patients will not be discharged. Patient packages will also not be accepted. Patients in hospital wards will receive only the necessary services.
Mandatory sampling of all patients and staff is scheduled for June 4. Otherwise, the necessary decisions will be made. Patient status information will continue to be provided over the phone.
The Ignalina District Polyclinic provides its services on a regular schedule. There may be minor disturbances in remote consultations due to physicians whose primary workplace is the Ignalina District Hospital. In order to maximize the protection of doctors and patients, healthcare professionals will be prohibited from working in other workplaces.
