On Thursday, the president completed a series of meetings with candidates for ministerial positions in the government headed by I. Šimonytė.
After the presidency reiterated on Tuesday that several names do not fit into the list of ministerial candidates presented to it, Prime Minister-designate Ingrida Šimonytó hinted that if the president rejects any ministerial candidate, the parties of the center coalition Right may have to adjust their responsibilities.
In the public sphere, it is said that the candidacy of Arūnas Dulkis for the Minister of Health and Kasparas Adomaitis for the Minister of Transport and Communications was not suitable for the President.
ELTA recalls that no later than 15 days after his appointment, the Prime Minister presents to the Seimas the Government formed by him and approved by the President, and submits his program for consideration. The government is authorized to act when the Seimas, by a majority of the members present at the session, approves its program.
