“Under quarantine conditions, the spread of the pandemic has slowed but has not stopped. To protect people’s health and prevent major disruptions in the functioning of medical institutions, we must ensure that the number of infections finally begins to decrease ”, the presidential press service quoted the president in a press release.

According to the president, COVID-19 vaccines may arrive in Lithuania in the near future, so it is necessary to prepare properly for their acceptance and public vaccination.

Since the European Union, like Lithuania, is determined to purchase three types of vaccines with different storage conditions, it is particularly important to ensure that logistical actions are coordinated, that the vaccine is stored safely and distributed efficiently. .

The head of state also expressed the expectation that members of the interim government will hand over their work to the new cabinet constructively and smoothly when it is formed.

According to the president, the collegiate transfer of work and information is especially important in this critical period for the country, and the Interim Government must fulfill its functions with honesty and transparency until the last moments of work.
