Musician and teacher Arvydas Paltinas dies

The OFM priest Arūnas Peškaitis informed the Lrt.lt portal about the loss. After contacting the cleric, he made his way to the portal. People.lt He confirmed that Arvydas Paltin died on February 1, in a German hospital, of complications from pneumonia.

“He was diagnosed with pneumonia very suddenly. As the disease progressed, Arvydas went into an artificial coma. Today I was informed that Arvydas died …”, – to the portal People.lt Arūnas Peškaitis said.

The priest was a close friend of A. Paltinas and remembered him as a very talented, educated and at the same time correct person.

“For me, he will always remain a person of light and inner culture. Arvydas was a true pedagogue, who raised many talented musicians, at the same time Nelly, Birutė Petrikytė, Viktoras Malinauskas, Edmundas Kučinskas and others. Although he worked with brilliant personalities, he himself was a very focused, responsible and correct person, ”shared the clergyman.

We remind you that Arvydas Paltinas’ wife, Nelly Paltinienė, died on February 29 last year, and soon after her own health began to fail.

Until now, the remains of A. Paltinas are in Germany, but as soon as the pandemic ends, the musician will be buried in the Vilnius Antakalnis cemetery, on Artists’ Hill, in the cemetery with his wife Nelly Paltinienė.

A. Paltinas was born in 1933. August 6 In the village of Lankupiai, Klaipėda region. He graduated from Agluonėnai Primary School and Priekulė Progymnasium, studied choir conducting at Klaipėda School of Music, studied at Vilnius State Conservatory, but did not graduate.

Since 1954, A. Paltinas has been the art director and teacher at the Klaipėda House of Culture at the first Klaipėda children’s music school.

A.Paltinas was one of the pioneers of pop music in Klaipėda, the leader of the popular pop ensemble “Kopų balsai”, he formed soloists N.Paltinienė, Eugenijus Ivanauskas, Edmundas Kučinskas and others.

In 1982, he and his wife Nelly Paltiniene went to live in Germany, taught at the February 16 Gymnasium, organized concerts, and came to Lithuania to perform.

There was no royal wedding

A few years ago, Arvydas and Nelly gave an interview to Legendos magazine: they remembered their acquaintance and love.

Arvydai, do you remember the first time you saw Nelly on stage?

Arvydas: We music students only had to go to amateur reviews to find out who and how they started working. And the speeches began to say that there is a very good soloist in the communication ensemble singing movie songs. One of them was Strekoza, so let’s say we’re going to see Strekoza. I met Nelly, I met her in town.

I already had an orchestra, which was located in the house of culture, and one day Daunorienė accompanied me to Nelė. My eyes squared, I offered to accept a singer who seemed unattainable, somewhere up there …

Nelly: There was no orchestra left, I had to find another group, I went to one, I didn’t stay because the director began to communicate ambiguously. I went to another, the situation was repeated. I told the manager that everything, I would throw myself singing and not go anywhere because I can not. I couldn’t go to Kaunas, as she suggested, because I had a son, I was not alone and free. Then the manager says, “Okay, I’ll take you to Paltin, he genius and very serious. It will be quiet ”. And that Paltin, as I later learned, had been watching me for a long time …

I would not even have thought that my husband would marry, I always repeated that it could not happen.

You can never say ‘never’: I would never have thought that my husband would get married, he would always repeat that this could not happen. After all, he had all kinds of fans … But in our case, I can safely say that it’s not my fault that the first Arvydas family broke up.

Arvydas: I got married very young, we lived together for five years.

Nelly: I saw how difficult it was for him. I regretted it. And I saw that he fell in love with me … I thought – maybe I can make him happy? Yes, it is very childish. Then I fell in love with Arvydas. We lived with him for four years without a hit. We were in fashionSerie).

Arvydas: They were few then: we violated Soviet morals. All types sprats It was: after all, we couldn’t stay in a hotel room.

Nelly: The hotel receptionist opens the passport and says: do not go to a room, you are not husband and wife. Colleagues are trying to convince us that we have been living together for so many years, but not yet. We established ourselves with colleagues of the same sex.

We couldn’t reciprocate because I was married to the father of my son, I didn’t know where he was, how to find him and ask for a divorce. This was only possible with the announcement of a nationwide search, which was not very easy. When he sent a telegram to the court stating that he did not object to the divorce, I was able to go free.

Although our real wedding to Arvydas was not like that. On January 6, fifty-two years ago, we went, corresponded and went to a concert. Only after that did we sit down with colleagues, have a snack … We all drank for our health. Only up to a point.

For a long time, Klimenko was also written in parentheses next to Paltinienė’s surname. There were also some confusing ones. A man after the concert says: “You sing very well, but Klimenko sang better.”
