Municipalities are obliged to prepare adequately for the vaccination of the population against the coronavirus

By decision of the Acting Head of State-Level Emergency Operations (OV) who acts as Minister of Health, the directors of the municipal administrations are instructed to appoint a coordinator, a municipal doctor or other administrative employee to coordinate the vaccination process in their municipality.

The coordinator should be responsible for coordinating the coronavirus vaccination at the personal health care facilities (HPP) within the municipality. The designated coordinator must cooperate with the Ministry of Health in the implementation of the vaccination of the population and ensure a fluid vaccination of the population belonging to the priority groups.

The directors of the municipal administrations are also obliged to appoint at least one ASPI to organize the vaccination of the population, which would guarantee the smooth vaccination of the people belonging to the priority groups. The designated ASPI must be able to vaccinate the municipal population belonging to the priority groups within 5 days (120 hours) from the delivery of the vaccine in accordance with the established procedure.

The OV’s decision also identifies priority groups of people: ASPI patients and employees who provide nursing and supportive care services, residents of inpatient social care institutions, employees of social service institutions over the age of 65. people with chronic diseases, as well as healthcare workers at risk of exposure to people with coronavirus.
