The most polluted air is found in Bangladesh (first place), Pakistan (second place) and India (third place).

Of the 40 European countries studied, Lithuania ranks 20th in terms of air pollution, second only to Latvia, Estonia, Russia, and the countries of northern and western Europe.

The main indicator of the study was the level of fine particles PM2.5 µg / m³.

The goal set by the World Health Organization is contamination by fine particles of less than 10 µg / m³.

In the case of Lithuania, the annual average is 11.7 μg / m³.

The study shows that among the largest cities in Lithuania, the healthiest people live in Klaipeda (8.8 µg / m³), ​​Kaunas (10.8 µg / m³) and Panevėžys (11.8 µg / m³). Vilnius, the capital (13.4 μg / m³), ​​only surpasses Šiauliai (14.3 μg / m³).
