A young Marijampolė County resident, aged 30 to 39, was reported dead Wednesday morning from COVID-19 infection. It is about the death of 14 people belonging to this age group in Lithuania.
According to Justina Petravičienė, representative of the National Center for Public Health (NVSC), although a person has had certain diseases, doctors do not point out that they may have played a decisive role in the course of the COVID-19 disease.
“The man arrived at the emergency department in a rather difficult condition, so he was transferred to another medical institution without improving. As clarified by the representative of the NVSC, the patient received for the first time on January 14 He was admitted to the Marijampolė Hospital and later transferred to the Kaunas Clinic, where on 26 d. died.

According to J. Petravičienė, in this case it is difficult to know the epidemiological diagnosis and the circumstances of the infection, because the patient found out about his illness only after being hospitalized due to his serious condition.
“Because he was in a difficult condition, I couldn’t talk to him, he didn’t just pick up the phone,” she said.
A representative of the NVSC added that the disease in the husband and was diagnosed in the admission department.

The Department of Statistics indicates that “the number of deaths in the last day is preliminary and increases between 20 and 40 percent in a few days.”
Of the four previously reported coronavirus deaths included in overall mortality statistics, two were men and two were women. Two of them were between 70 and 79 years old, and one died in the 60-69 and 90-99 age groups.
