“After a conversation with Mr. R. Petraitis, the minister made the decision to negatively assess his service activities in 2020 and remove him from his post,” Minister Aūnas Šuksta, spokesman for Minister Arūnas Dulkis, informed BNS on Friday.

According to her, the head of the NVSC has two working days to know the conclusion of the evaluation and then will have another five working days to present a request for evaluation of its activities to the performance evaluation commission.

According to A.Šuksta, during the performance appraisal, the previous year’s tasks, their appraisal indicators, the abilities to perform the functions stated in the job description and their qualification were discussed with the head of the NVSC.

R. Petraitis himself announced that he would be fired on Friday. He says he presented the results of the previous year in the annual evaluation and did not hear any specific performance evaluations from the Minister of Health.

R. Petraitis states in it that it is a political decision.

“I had received a proposal to leave the NVSC in the form of an agreement, that is, with certain conditions of the agreement. In general, I was offered to leave the job with a solid compensation for the commitment not to provide information about the activities of the ministry. Considering that there were only a few months left until the end of the period, this would have been the simplest solution for me.

But like I said, I worked honestly all the time.

And, apparently, it would have been very favorable for some, because the situation would have been “zero”. But like I said, I worked honestly all the time. My only regret is that this policy includes the employees of the institution who have worked and are working day and night to overcome this situation ”, R. Petraitis is quoted in the NVSC report.

According to A.Šuksta, the ministry does not evaluate his public speeches.

R. Petraitis has been urged by Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys to resign from the NVSC, but he refused, saying that criticism of the center’s activities is unfounded.
