On Tuesday, Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė explained how the movement restrictions will be implemented.

“Yesterday a restriction plan was prepared and agreed with all public security services, I would like to call it a safe vacation plan,” said A. Bilotaitė.

According to her, the municipal police will organize stationary checkpoints in all municipalities and will control the vehicles that enter.

This will take place from December 18. 1 pm until December 20. 9 pm and from December 23. 1 pm to 27 d. 9 pm Restrictions on immobilization will also apply from December 31st. 1 pm until January 3. 9 pm

In this case, about 250 checkpoints will be installed. I would like to mention that if 750 crews take our streets on normal days, 920 crews will take our streets on these days. As for the other days, there will be mobile control on those days, and an additional 60 crews will take to the streets. I want to emphasize that we all understand that in this situation we will not have enough police forces alone, so yesterday it was agreed that the maximum use of the system by the officials of the Ministry of the Interior will be ensured ”, explained the Minister.

A. Bilotaitė highlighted that the participation of the military police and the participation of the Riflemen’s Union had also been agreed with the Ministry of National Defense.

Due to the need for municipal participation, a meeting with municipal representatives will be held on Tuesday.

The police can be consulted about the possibility of driving

“We see our mission as an aid to our people who will have one question or another. We reserve the imposition of administrative sanctions as a last resort, ”said R. Požėla.

R. Požėla has addressed all the people who want to ride a bicycle, but do not know if it is legal. According to him, it is possible to contact a police number and inquire about a specific situation and the possibility of going to another municipality.

The Commissioner General of Police specified that additional checkpoints would be installed at the entrance of municipal centers, and both public and non-public means would be used, such as surveillance cameras, tripods, etc., for controls in other areas.

Already on Monday, the Interior Minister, speaking about the control of long-distance movements, assured that police officers will carry out intensive traffic inspections on weekends and holidays. There will not be a permanent intensive control regime, as this would involve a large amount of financial resources in the first place.

“It will definitely not be the case that the movement is blocked from 1pm night and make sure someone on the road checks all passersby. There will be more physical control on holidays and weekends, and on normal days, especially during the working week, the means that the police know how to use as public and non-public will be used, ”Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė said on Monday.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, residents are prohibited from leaving their municipality without very important reasons. The exceptions to the restrictions on movement between municipalities include all health care services: not only will essential medical assistance be available, but also planned. As there are no restrictions to travel abroad, movement between municipalities is allowed in the case of traveling to the airport.

A provision has also been introduced that will allow officials to assess whether the reason given by residents for the trip is serious enough, even if it does not meet the conditions set out in the Government Resolution.

“There is an evaluative provision where it would be possible to evaluate, simply in light of the specific circumstances of an official, if there is a situation in which a person is suspended, if it really is some special circumstance that he should go to another municipality,” said the prime minister at a government meeting on Monday. I. Šimonytė.
