A. Kovalevskaja points out that compensation is awarded only to residents of the Vilnius City Municipality.

“According to the Vilnius City Council 2015 According to the decision, compensation can only be paid to children whose declared place of residence of one of the parents or guardians and the child is located on the territory of the Vilnius City Municipality,” he comments .

Parents whose children attend private kindergartens can request compensation of 100 euros from non-governmental educational institutions in Vilnius. They must be registered in the Register of Educational and Scientific Institutions and carry out preschool and preschool education programs.

“A non-state educational institution will sign a tripartite agreement to reimburse monthly fees with one of the parents or guardians and the director of the Municipal Administration or another person authorized by him in the electronic system, which must be signed with an electronic signature. Parents must present a certificate of declared residence, ”says A. Kovalevskaya.

Hire a babysitter or babysit at home

To receive 100 euros of funding for babysitters or parents (guardians) who have committed to caring for a child at home, the Vilnius city municipal administration has approved a separate procedure. According to the 2016 council decision, parents must meet the following conditions / requirements:

– the child is between 2 and 6 years old;

– the child is waiting in line in the centralized application and information system (SI) for at least one year after the date of the visit specified in the application and does not visit the municipality or a non-state educational institution;

– one of the parents (guardians) works or is on paternity and paternity leave, or is insured with compulsory health insurance provided by the State, or pays for compulsory health insurance himself;

– one of the parents (guardians) has entered into a child care and education agreement on a form approved by the Director of the Municipal Administration with a person with a business license (care activities for future babysitters, disabled and other people, activity code 099) or activities otherwise legalized.

Otherwise, when a child is cared for by a close adult relative, another person, an education and care agreement signed by both parties is required.

Parents who meet these requirements must complete a request for compensation of 100 euros by visiting the website https://svietimas.vilnius.lt/ and clicking “Request compensation of 100 EUR”.

Compensation will be provided until the child receives a place in the municipal kindergarten.

Free space in preschool and preschool education groups

According to data from the Vilnius City Municipality, there are currently 318 vacancies (based on data from August 30 this year) in the preschool and preschool education groups. Depending on their age, the children in line can request them.

8183 children are currently waiting in line for the Vilnius City Municipality kindergartens (according to data from August 30 this year). Of these, 4,647 children are waiting in line for kindergarten this year and 3,536 children are waiting in line for kindergarten the following year.

Vacancies in preschool and preschool education groups

The Vilnius City Municipality has been awarding compensation of 100 euros since 2015. Initially, the support was provided only to parents whose children attend private kindergartens.
