According to Rūta Vainienė, director of the association, taking into account the recently published number of COVID-19 cases, traders understand that these decisions were inevitable and necessary to manage the pandemic. At the same time, it calls on shoppers to be vigilant and not to besiege outlets in the last days before stores close.
“Merchants, for their part, will implement all the requirements, even though it will be painful for business. But at the same time, we want to ask shoppers: stay aware, stay home, and stay out of stores these days. Our own conscience it is the best weapon against further uncontrolled spread of the virus.
Closing stores doesn’t mean you won’t be able to buy the products you need or prepare for the holidays. Since the spring quarantine, merchants have invested heavily to enable shoppers to shop safely online. Some have been opened, while others have strengthened the existing e-commerce channel so that buyers can purchase products conveniently and quickly. Therefore, without waiting for the new quarantine requirements to come into effect, we invite everyone to stay serious and move holiday shopping to the electronic space, ”says R. Vainienė, director of the association that unites merchants.
According to the director of the association, merchants are prepared for a possible increase in the flow of buyers these days and remember that strict flow restriction requirements still apply. Therefore, buyers are asked not to go to stores so as not to form a queue next to them.
With the new quarantine requirements in place, physical grocery stores will continue to operate, but we encourage shoppers to shop online. Those who do not have the opportunity to order food online should go shopping with advance planning of purchases, buy products for a longer period of time at the same time and use all security measures. Go to outlets when traffic is low. In the morning the flow is less from 8 to 10 am, in the afternoon from 20 to 22 hours.
“Stay home, protect yourself, and protect others. It will only depend on the responsibility and the focus of all of us how quickly we can return to the normal rhythm of life. Let’s not wait until tomorrow, let’s act consciously today! ”Asks the buyers the director of the Lithuanian Association of Business Companies.
