With the hardening of the procedure, the visit of patients to personal health care institutions is prohibited, except for patients with a serious (terminal) condition, as well as for patients under 14 years of age and mothers. Visits to such patients may be permitted with the permission of the director of the institution or another person authorized by him.
During a stricter quarantine, a specialist providing outpatient health care services assesses the patient’s health status and makes a decision on how services will be provided. Dental, maternity and newborn health care, as well as immunization services for children and adults, are currently only available through contact.
Contact services can also be provided for disease prevention, preventive health examinations of employed persons, and provision of psychological assistance or psychotherapy. It is true that these latter services can also be provided remotely.
SAM points out that to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in the country, the use of health professionals, students of university and non-university high schools, residents, regardless of their subordination, is allowed.
If necessary, healthcare professionals and their staff may be temporarily transferred to another healthcare institution or their job functions may be temporarily changed to ensure the proper organization of healthcare services during an epidemic.
Healthcare facilities for hospitalized patients with coronavirus infection (COVID-19) are being reorganized under strict quarantine conditions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and treat more seriously ill patients. If necessary, the number of beds in these institutions and the scope of personal health care services can be increased in treating patients with COVID-19 disease.
Due to the difficult epidemiological situation due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lithuania, the provision of inpatient and outpatient health care services is currently being reduced or completely stopped.
