Arūnas Penkaitis, a progymnasium student parent representative, states that a couple of classes may have to go back to distance education.

“Possibly we will combine plan B. On Friday, a study was conducted in our progymnasium for students and school staff using the cumulative method. 722 people attended, of which 167 were accumulated. Two groups tested positive (Blindžiai and Lukiškės departments) and 165 groups tested negative, ”A.Penkaitis announced on Facebook.

According to him, the classes with positive accumulations received a separate report. All individuals with a positive cohort are informed of the need to repeat the CRP test.

“We expect to see results today (Saturday) late afternoon or tomorrow morning. In the worst case, one or both classes will return to distance education for a couple of weeks,” writes A. Penkaitis.

According to the portal, the progymnasium, which began teaching contact classes on February 22, received negative responses to COVID-19 tests performed by the cumulative method after the first and after the second week.

On Wednesday, the government gave 25 municipalities the opportunity to open general education schools for primary school children. With the incorporation of the Vilnius City Municipality, which already had such a permit, 26 municipalities can select subordinate schools to implement the safe return to school project. According to preliminary data, more than 60 schools wanted to get their primary school children back.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports said on Friday that it still did not know exactly how many schools would start across the country next week.
