Maxima employees have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Šiauliai

On Sunday, an employee at the Maxima XXX store in Akropolis, Šiauliai, announced that she had been diagnosed with a coronavirus. For this worker, the COVID-19 test was performed on September 30 (results were received on October 3) and she last visited the workplace on September 20 and has since been isolated at home since they prescribed COVID-19 for your family member. Representatives of the Maxima retail chain note that they are currently unaware that employees of the Maxima XXX store working in Šiauliai Akropolis feel the typical symptoms of COVID-19.

“Our coronavirus worker has been isolated at home for two weeks because COVID-19 is a member of her family. She had no symptoms, so she was tested for COVID-19 on September 30 and diagnosed with the October 3. We remain in contact with the employee. We have not received any news from other employees at the same Maxima XXX store in the last two weeks that someone is experiencing specific symptoms of COVID-19. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and we will take the recommended actions if necessary, “said Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Communication and Image Department of the Maxima retail chain.

The premises of the Šiauliai Akropolis Maxima store, where a COVID-19 infected employee worked, have been internally cleaned and disinfected additionally.

“There are stricter hygiene requirements in our stores: trolleys and baskets and various other surfaces are periodically disinfected, and fresh air circulation is increased for store ventilation. Employees are also familiar with additional recommendations to avoid direct contact and maintain a safe distance, ”noted E. Dapkienė.

Temperature is measured daily for Maxima employees. If employees feel unwell, have symptoms of a cold or flu, they are asked to stay home.

A total of 21 employees of the Maxima store chain have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 16 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 712 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently 26 employees are still waiting for a test response, 22 of them are registered for prevention purposes, when Lithuanian municipalities organize preventive examinations.
