As Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports Ramūnas Skaudžius said after the meeting, the idea that maturity exams should be scrapped is not being considered. However, the intention is to drop the Lithuanian language and literature test. In previous years, it had been organized since February, only those who passed it could take the Lithuanian language and literature exam.
It is also proposed to take maturity work maturity exams, school technology and art, part of the school mother tongue maturity exam (Belarusian, Polish, Russian, German) speaking at a distance, if all or part of education in these Examinations are also carried out remotely. The proposal to take the oral part of the state matriculation exams for a foreign language (English, French, Russian, German) remotely is also being considered.
Verification of basic education achievement for tenth graders would be done remotely and electronically.
The National Agency for Education also provided several variations on maturity tests and PUPP programs that would depend on the epidemiological situation.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports will make a decision on the organization of maturity exams and basic education performance tests before March 1.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports is currently developing a plan to compensate for the learning losses suffered during the pandemic. The plan provides assistance to graduates and other students, provision of computer equipment to socially vulnerable groups, additional consultations.
