Invitation from the Presidency

S. Malinauskas, former adviser to former Prime Minister S. Skvernelis, spoke about the invitation received from the Presidency on the radio news program “Excellent Defeats”.

When the host of the program Gintaras Gimžauskas asked if he would agree to work for the team of President Gitanas Nausėda or the Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius, S. Malinauskas answered the question “and why do you say“ yes ”?

“And why do you say ‘yes’?” (…) Because the first message when I left the Prime Minister’s team was from the President’s team, ”said S. Malinauskas on the program.

He said he had received an invitation to speak about future plans.

“Yes, I received an invitation to speak about some plans for the future, but of course, I was mentally laughing because I was the competitor’s communications manager during the campaign when it came to the presidential election. And the other thing is that I don’t hide it at all, now I would tend to strongly oppose Mr. Nausėda. I am very sorry that you have chosen such solutions in some cases.

We’re definitely not just talking about some LGBT stuff here. I myself belong to a traditional family and it seems strange to me that such a simple question has caused so much passion. But in general, the behavior and during a pandemic, that application completely to things that seem to me even a little dangerous for Lithuania is. I don’t know, this president disappointed me.

And I wonder a lot what the alternative will be, or if there will be a political party leader who can run in the next elections. Because if we become a country where presidents rule for two terms, I am sorry too, because it says a lot about our democracy, ”said S. Malinauskas to the radio newscast” Excelentes Defeats “.

“There were good things, there were bad things”

The former Chancellor of the government of former Prime Minister S. Skvernelis Milda Dargužaitė has stated that working in the government was her biggest mistake. S. Malinauskas declared that he did not think so.

“No, I don’t think so. But I also heard from the Prime Minister that this was one of the biggest mistakes in regards to the Chancellor himself,” said S. Malinauskas.

“There were good things, there were bad things,” said S. Malinauskas about his work in the Government.

He said he did not communicate with the Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga.

“I was never his friend, I opposed him, he knew it. And some of his decisions seemed completely stupid. And when there were presidential elections, most of what we heard was criticism of Mr. Veryga. For reimbursement of medicines and other things. Clearly, I myself was completely unexpected when the Prime Minister asked to assume the chairmanship of the public information group, because he realized that there would be a major crisis. We did that, “explained S. Malinauskas.

Who benefits from the tensions over the Association Law?

The program interviewer S. Malinauskas also recalled behind the scenes of politics. He described the presentation of the Corporations Law as an excellent duel between influence and political forces.

“Everyone agrees very clearly, all the political forces, that the Association Law should be approved. And the conflict is resolved. So why escalate this situation? And what is happening? It is in the farmers’ interest to keep the tension as high as possible; they say they will not support any debate on the Association.

This is also good for the Freedom Party, because then a larger part of the electorate on that other side mobilizes around it. They go very aggressively. (…) The final is obtained in such a way that there is no solution that is needed. But there is a lot of controversy and anger, but they all have political dividends, from the president to the prime minister, ”shared S. Malinauskas.

He said that he had seen such processes while working in politics.
