Malinauskas: Karbauskis made it clear that Skvernelis and its people are gone

Before his resignation, S. Malinauskas also served as head of the public information group at the Emergency Management Center last spring. Therefore, it also evaluated the current pandemic management policy.

“The difference between this government and the previous government of Saulius Skvernelis is that this government will have to handle the situation for another four years, assuming responsibility. It is very difficult for them to take risks in these waves, because it will not be possible to say: we released everything before the elections, now everything has changed and now we are to blame, and the opposite position will say – Šimonytė has arrived and ruined everything, ”he said. .

He exhorted mayors not to participate in politics.

Last week, after the report on disease statistics distributed by the Širvintos district mayor Živilė Pinskuvienė, the Department of Statistics distributed its response, in which the information published by the politicians was described as a liar. The mayor assured that the number of coronavirus cases in the Širvintos district is lower than what official statistics show. Other mayors also followed suit.

“In fact, we have problems with statistics,” acknowledged the Minister of Health (SAM). We have uncoordinated systems. The only problem is: to achieve political dividends, you find a hole that you wash others, that the situation in Lithuania seems to be out of control in general, all figures are falsified and so on.

The answer here is very simple: the numbers, the number of new cases that close municipalities, restrict movement, take other measures, are precise enough. The problem that existed is that you can get sick and then no longer adequately inform the medical institution that the person is healthy, perhaps because they do not want to make that diagnosis, perhaps because it is simply not necessary.

Then the mayors, not only Ms. Pinskuvienė, but also the mayor of Palanga, and other mayors started saying: wait, look, there are far fewer cases in our country than are actually advertised. That is why it is very useful for mayors to say that the situation in the municipalities is good, look, they are deceiving us ”, he explained.

S. Malinauskas urged the representatives of the municipality not to politicize in this place.

Skvernel’s political maneuvers are limited

S. Malinauskas assured that he maintains relations with the former prime minister. At the same time, he revealed his views on the shadow government formed by the peasants.

“I will not hide my communication with Saulius Skvernelis. I see two aspects. First, yes, on the one hand, it is good piarinis public relations step. Many say that everyone does not like peasants. Imagine if there was now a shadow government where Gabriel Landsberg would be declared prime minister, would that be good? piarinis a step for conservatives or not, simply because that person does not have much confidence in society.

Ramūnas Karbauskis said it very clearly in this place: Saulius Skvernelis no longer exists, his team no longer exists, because both Linas Kukuraitis, who was Minister of Social Security and Labor, and Lukas Savickas, who was once presented to the Ministers of Economy and Innovation, were specifically expelled. What happened? Karbauskis formed his own party company, practically essentially partisan, of “pocket” people, S. Malinauskas noted.

What is the situation with S. Skvernelis? According to him, this is the blink of an eye for him, as he was the prime minister of a fairly successful government.

“You’re just telling him: look, your time is up, the party chairman comes and takes this position. I know S. Skvernel himself disagreed. But the next question is, what’s next? I don’t think it’s an artificial conflict, but S. Skvernel’s possibilities of maneuver are very slim. We have a party that is one person: R. Karbauskis. I would be surprised if the group managed to survive as it is, as well as with S. Skvernelis and his team until the end of the legislature (…) ”, he mentioned about the possibility of peasant split.

At the same time, S. Malinauskas admitted that there are two flanks in the peasant faction. However, the more liberal flank to which the former prime minister’s people belong is very small. According to him, up to seven people might not meet.

We now see what would happen if R. Karbauskis came “to power”. The question is whether people, even those who voted, for example, for S. Skvernel, for the peasants, are fascinated by her. Are you fascinated, for example, by Arvydas Vaitkus in the presidency of the Minister of Transport and Communications, who was removed from a conflict of interest from the sea port of Klaipeda, and now the sea port of Klaipeda will be directly subordinate? This is absurd, “said S. Malinauskas.

The president – stuck in a corner

S. Malinauskas expressed his views on the disagreements between the conservatives and the president on who should represent Lithuania in the European Council (EC). The president currently goes to the EVS, but the governing bodies say the prime minister should.

“Obviously, if there are clubs that are more concerned with the executive and the government, it might be more practical to travel there, no matter who the prime minister is: left, right. But the people who could make those decisions would go away.

The second thing, it’s quite obvious that the president and I predicted that the president will actually be cornered, because the foreign minister is a strong party leader with enough support, the prime minister is a former presidential candidate.

The situation is such that Gitan Nausėda’s opinion matters little to her. This is not even a war with the president. In my opinion, the Conservatives are simply taking power back where they need it, ”explained S. Malinauskas.
