“From the first show, I came in a mood, I finished another tonight. I got more serious, but because of the victory I want to make a face, which the commission did not allow me until then”, did not hide the winner of the Dainius project, who raised a gesture of triumph on the director’s podium, his emotions.

On the evening of October 2, at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, for the last time, participants of the Maestro musical project stood in front of a symphony orchestra to prove their worth as a teacher, according to a press release. . Three finalists, Lina Rastokaitė, Tomas Narkevičius-Free Finga and Dainius Kazlauskas, each performed two works: one chosen by those who had already performed in the project before, the other an excerpt from the musical genius’s “Fifth Symphony” Ludwig van Beethoven, who is considered one of the most difficult in the world in the history of music.

As always, the participants were evaluated by a competent commission: the chairman of the Maestro commission, the winner of the Lithuanian Art and Culture Prize, the founder of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the artistic director and the main conductor prof. Gintaras Rinkevičius, LNOBT Principal Director, Ričardas Šumila, Golden Stage Cross Laureate and world-class mezzo-soprano, Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Music and Drama Justina Gringytė.

During the evening, the judges were also LRT TELEVIZIJA viewers, who were able to vote for the participant they liked. Fifty percent of the votes in the final show are determined by audience scores, the remaining 50 by commission scores. If scores are evenly distributed, viewer votes are given priority.

The performer Tomas Narkevičius-Free Finga was the first to go on stage. For their performance, the commission awarded 26 points out of 30.

“Before the first show, I was very sure it would sound good and I got a flop. And only through a long time and long work did I achieve some form that I can already be proud of. And while I’m proud of it, the ceiling is incredibly high, “Tom made no secret of his emotions.

The second actress, Lina Rastokaitė, took on the director, who, while receiving comments about the too fast-paced performance, was also happy with the praise for the explosive energy. The Commission awarded it 24 points.

“I gained a lot of knowledge that I never had in my life. I started listening to music in a completely different way and the way a person feels has improved, ”Lina said about the project.

The third actor and director Dainius Kazlauskas appeared on stage. After the show, the commission admitted that tonight he was more like a conductor. And although in the first emission of the project the president of the commission prof. Gintaras Rinkevičius offered Dainius never to conduct again, this time he gave him up to 10 points, and in total Dainius received up to 29 points for the Fifth Symphony.

For the second work, Tomas Narkevičius-Free Finga chose the waltz “Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss performed in the first edition. It was in this performance that the performer demonstrated particularly significant progress between the first and sixth releases of the project. The commission awarded him 28 points for this performance.

Lina Rastokaitė also chose to direct her first work from the opera “Carmen” by French composer Georges Bizet, for which she received 26 points.

Dainius Kazlauskas performed the second performance tonight with Eugene Doga’s waltz from the movie “My Beloved Gentle Beast.” The commission did not spare the actor nice words and awarded him maximum points, making him the leader of the final.

“The first time I really wanted to be realistic, I really wanted to tell it, the last time I wanted to be real. While I was playing, I thought of my wife Indre, and I dedicate this waltz to her ”, said Dainius as he came off the stage.

At the end of the final show, the voices of the audience also became clear. Dainius Kazlauskas received the most votes: 2746, Tomas Narkevičius-Free Finga is second with 1331 votes, Lina Rastokaitė is third with 319 votes.

Summarizing the votes of the commission and the spectators, it was clear that Dainius Kazlauskas won the title of teacher and the symbolic conductor’s baton, a stepping stone, having received the maximum number of points from both spectators and the commission, 6 points.
