Lukashenko: Astrava nuclear power plant to be connected “in a few days”

The first reactor at the Astrava nuclear power plant will be connected soon. The first block will be connected in a few days, said Aliaksandr Lukenka during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Friday.

Belarus is chaired by Belta State News Agent Belta.

As previously announced, nuclear fuel for the first power reactor was brought to Russia in early May and, as announced by the Belarusian Ministry of Energy last month, should be connected in July.

Jgain will have two reactors for the Russian VVER project, each with a 1,200 megawatt capacity. The second reactor is expected to come online approximately one year after the start of the first reactor.
