Long-term doctor from Tauragė and Eržvilkas medical institutions lost the fight against COVID-19

“We share the sad news: Steponas Česlovas Strodomskis, chief physician of the Eržvilkas Primary Health Care Center, lost the fight against the insidious coronavirus. His life died on January 8. The doctor died at the age of 72,” he announced on 8 January the District Municipality of Jurbarkas.

On January 1, 2006, he worked as chief physician of the Eržvilkas primary health care center. Several generations of Eržvilki residents will remember him as a respected doctor, always simple, sincere, calm and supportive of the community. S.Č Strodomskis, the heads and employees of the municipality, was evaluated as a long-term experienced head of a health institution.

C. Strodomsky has always been active and civic. In the history of the Jurbarkas district, as the municipality declares, he will remain not only a doctor, but also an active social person. Having experienced a part of the deportation, he actively joined the Sąjūdis movement and participated in the activities of the Eržvilkas Community Center. He was elected to the first Jurbarkas District Council after the restoration of independence and participated in decisions that were very important for the district in 1990-1995. S.Č.Strodomskis was elected a member of the Municipal Council and the Municipal Board in 1995-1997, in 2000-2003.

The doctor did his duty to help others honorably until he himself was caught in this dangerous disease.

“We have lost the Doctor, the light of the Eržvilkas community and a great person who has dedicated his entire life to the people of the Jurbarkas region,” said Skirmantas Mockevičius, mayor of the Jurbarkas district municipality, expressing his condolences for the lost.
