Lithuanians traveling abroad are threatened with restrictions, only those who come from 7 countries would not be isolated

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the incidence of COVID-19 in Lithuania has risen to 17.3 in the last two weeks, although it was only 16.6 a week ago.

We remind you that a week ago it was decided in Lithuania, as of Monday, when the list of countries affected by coronavirus was approved, to collect it no longer in 16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, as before, but in 25. population, the self-isolation.

Estonia also raised the morbidity rate to 25 cases per 100,000 population, but Latvia decided to stick to indicator 16.

He is sicker in Spain and dies in Romania

At present, Spain continues to have the highest incidence of coronavirus in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. It has already reached 287.2 cases per 100 thousand. population. Last week it was lower: 265.5 cases per 100,000. population. The death rate in this country in the last 14 days is 2.2. A week ago, this figure was 1.5 cases per 100,000. population.

France remained in second place, with a morbidity rate that increased to 166.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last two weeks.

It is followed by the Czech Republic, with a morbidity rate of 143.3 per 100,000. population. A week ago, Croatia was in third place.

The highest rate of deaths from COVID-19 infection is currently in Romania. Here it is 2.9 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last two weeks, and a week ago it was even higher: 3.1.

Latvia looks better

Of the neighboring countries, Latvia seems the best so far. The incidence rate of the coronavirus here is only 4.2, the mortality from this disease – 0.1 cases per 100 thousand. population.

In Poland, the morbidity rate is currently 19, which means that self-isolation will not be mandatory for those coming to Lithuania from this country. Unfortunately, the incidence rate in Estonia jumped to 25.7 cases per 100,000 cases. population. So those coming from this country are likely to have to isolate themselves as of Monday.

The incidence rate is 59.3 in the UK, 54.7 in Ireland, 58.1 in Denmark, 29.4 in Sweden, and 28.6 in Norway. Therefore, those returning from the latter countries will likely have to be isolated as of Monday as well.

Countries with a morbidity rate no higher than 16

There are few countries in Europe with a morbidity rate of less than 16,000.

In addition to the aforementioned Latvia, the low incidence of coronavirus can be enjoyed by Cyprus – 6.1, Liechtenstein – 7.8 and Finland – 10.7 cases per 100 thousand. population. The same countries did not copy the morbidity cartels in 16 cases a week ago.

Countries with a morbidity rate no higher than 25

As mentioned, 25 cases per 100,000. the population does not exceed Poland. Iceland does not reach this indicator either, where the incidence is 19 and Germany. In the latter country, the morbidity rate is 23.7 cases per 100,000. population.

The list of states affected by the coronavirus is published on Fridays. It will go into effect on Monday.

Veryga still does not know the Latvian solution

If Latvia does not apply exceptions to Lithuania when deciding on affected countries on Friday, Lithuanians going to it will likely have to isolate themselves, says Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga.

“Their decision will probably depend on whether they apply some flexibility or not, but we should definitely be in a position where we, as Estonians, can find ourselves in the same situation,” the minister told BNS on Friday.

According to A. Veryga, it is not yet known what Latvia’s solution will be.

“If it is as it has been for the last two weeks, we usually find out about that decision on Friday afternoon. Of course, it would be good if they said it earlier, because in Latvia there is so much difference with Lithuania and Estonia that it takes effect on Saturday. We must tell our citizens to those who plan to travel to Latvia, because there are really a lot of people living on the border, they should know about it, but we cannot rush to another country, ”said the Minister.

Poland does not impose restrictions on EU citizens
