Benediktas Vanagas, leader of the Inbank Toyota Gazoo Racing Baltics team, announced that the team has negotiated with a private company a charter flight directly from Vilnius to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

“We can get the plane, we know the prices, we have calculated and we will all fly together,” Vanag said, broadcasting live on his Facebook account.

The athlete joked that a Jewish proverb says that if problems can be solved with money, then it is a cost, not a problem.

“It seems that in our case there are no problems, there are only costs that will potentially be higher,” said Vanag.

According to him, a plane, a direct flight from Vilnius to Jeddah, would fly a day later, on December 27. In addition, the athlete emphasized, he would fly practically all the Lithuanian teams ready to start in the Dakar Rally.

But we are still waiting for the final “yes” from the organizers, that everything will really go as planned, there will be no changes. In addition, we need to be assured that we will be able to land in Jeddah, that we will be admitted ”, emphasized the runner.

According to him, although costs are rising, the situation is not so bad, because a direct flight will ensure that Lithuanians do not catch the coronavirus in Istanbul, which was supposed to become a stopover.
