The concert held in Vilnius Cathedral Square provided the opportunity to listen to the most beautiful arias from the legendary musical, which reveals the exploits of the Lithuanian heroes Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas.

This year, the “National Anthem” will be performed simultaneously around the world for the thirteenth time. “Uneven, but united”: this idea will give meaning to the general singing of the anthem this year. Lithuanians from all over the world are invited to rejoice together in the inspiration that unites the nation, which the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, will invite during the event.

“Singing the” National Anthem “together on State Day at the same time around the world is a very significant and important part of the 21st century. A tradition that we believe we will pass on to future generations. Singing the anthem doesn’t just bind us together. all gathered here and now, but also unites us to the generations of our parents and ancestors, inspires us with the courage and determination to commit ourselves to work for that Lithuania ”, says President Gitanas Nausėda.

This year, State Day coincides with the end of the quarantine, but the head of state recalls that only one stage of the difficult fight against the pandemic has ended, so we must remain vigilant, responsible and continue to comply with precautionary measures achieved by stopping the spread of the virus.

The creative group of the musical “Lituanica” gave a concert at the festive act in the Cathedral Square, during the culmination of the event – at 9 pm Lithuanians from all over the world sang the “National Anthem” together with the performers of the musical ” Lituanica “and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gintaras Rinkevičius, which was located in the courtyard of the Rulers’ Palace.
