Upon arrival at the zoo, visitors will once again be able to enjoy the spectacular wildlife. A large group of ungulates awaits the guests of the zoo: bison, llamas, camels, loved ones of children, Cameroon goats.

Also representatives of the group of predatory mammals: snow leopards, amur tigers, arctic wolves, lynxes and others. The Kajus seal, a celebrity from the Lithuanian zoo, also misses visitors. Visitors wishing to see a greater variety of animal species should hurry, as in hot climates large numbers of animals will travel to other zoos, including seal kajus, snow leopards, Cole’s dwarf hippo, wildebeest antelope , the tapir Lita and others.

At the moment, visitors will not be able to see the animals inside: in the aquarium, the terrarium, the birdhouse. Farmed animals (peccaries, giraffes, hippos, wildebeest antelope and others) are not yet allowed in the field. Parrots and waterfowl still enjoy the warm interior, so visitors won’t be able to see them at least for now.

A new resident is also waiting for visitors. During the quarantine, a representative of a majestic species, an elephant, settled in the zoo. The truth is not a real animal, but a sculpture created by the metal virtuoso Remigijus Rabikauskas.

The six-foot-tall sculpture of a seated elephant made of metal will now welcome all visitors who have entered the realm of wildlife. The artist who lives in Jonava donated the sculpture to the zoo to help promote the zoo.

For animal lovers who want to get to know the animals that live in the zoo better, it will be possible to book in advance sightseeing tours and themed outdoor excursions. The teachings will be given by educators who know all the animals at the Lithuanian Zoo. Subject to quarantine restrictions, educational programs will be provided for groups of no more than 5 people.

You can find out more about the educational programs offered and how to apply for them on the Lithuanian Zoo website at www.zoosodas.lt/zoo-mokyklele/edukacines-programs/.

The Lithuanian Zoo will be open every day of the week from 9:00 to 17:00. (departure until 4:00 p.m.). The Lithuanian Zoo staff will do their best to make visiting the Lithuanian Zoo safe and enjoyable. To avoid having to queue at the box office, visitors are invited to purchase tickets online at www.zoosodas.lt/BilietuPirkimas.

There are many points on the territory of the zoo where visitors can disinfect their hands. Our staff regularly disinfects frequently touched surfaces. Follow personal hygiene and other mandatory guidelines to protect everyone’s health.
