Lithuania statistics: eHealth data on COVID-19 deaths is unreliable

Therefore, the Department publishes data on deaths from COVID-19 collected by the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) in accordance with established procedures, which are provided to physicians by completing Form U07.1.

The Statistics Department also reported that it had asked the Registry Center for the reasons for the deaths.

The Institute of Hygiene states that the total number of deaths from COVID-19 may be even higher than the information entered by doctors in the electronic health system, since these will include some cases in which COVID-19 was not identified as the main cause but as the entire course of the disease. according to the rules it corresponds to the case of death from this infection.
