“Given that circumstances are constantly changing, the Ministry of Health, in order to ensure the protection of the public against infection, proposes to approve this proposal and use the quota allocated to Lithuania of 0.616 million doses of vaccine,” said Tuesday the Minister of Health, Arūnas Dulkys, to the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, in order to mass vaccinate the Lithuanian population next year, it is important to ensure a large quantity of vaccine.

“For there to be more vaccination in the coming years, it is important that this amount is sufficient. Because the losses that we stop due to the economic shutdown and quarantine are great compared to the price of the vaccine,” said I. Šimonytė.

Lithuania has already signed an agreement on 1.24 million. vaccine dose. The estimated amount would be additional. There are two doses of the vaccine per person.
