During the previous day, the coronavirus was confirmed in three employees of the Santara clinics, one patient and two relatives of infected employees.

Health professionals are concerned that one of the sick employees of the Santara clinics attended a gym

“It would be nothing, but one of the infected personnel from the Santara clinic visited the gym, where 94 exposed visitors and an employee were identified. The nature of the exposure is being clarified, ”said Rolanda Lingienė, Director of the NVSC Vilnius Department at BNS.

According to her, during the investigation of the case to the correspondent of the Lithuanian Post, people who had contact were identified.

“Two high-risk people, 25 low-risk people, have been identified in Lietuvos Paštas,” said a representative from NVSC.

According to R. Lingienė, the coronavirus was also confirmed for the children of three people who participated in the celebration in Kernavė. A total of six participants in the celebration and nine contact persons became ill.

According to her, 61 people had contact with infected participants of the festival or their close relatives, 47 of them were isolated.

According to the Vilnius department director at NVSC, the coronavirus was also confirmed to an Affidea employee on the last day. The company operates in the facilities of the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital.

“This case is possibly related to the outbreak at the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital, because in mid-May his colleague was also diagnosed with the infection. He was then isolated. (…) During the entire isolation, he complained about his health and he felt bad, but the tests showed no infection, “said R. Lingienė.

“He returned to work in early June, did some tests there, which showed some changes in the body, then went to the Santara clinics, where he confirmed the coronavirus. (…) During the survey, he said he had done a study about coronavirus three times, “said an NVSC spokeswoman.

“The risk is being assessed, but there will probably not be people at high risk because personal protective equipment is being used,” he added.

R. Lingienė claims that COVID-19 infection was also detected in four people unrelated to the chimneys. Two of them are health workers.

“One person works at the Juodšiliai outpatient clinic, the case is asymptomatic. The contact had 77 people because he was treated on the birthday of a man of respectable age. Of these, four coworkers and four patients were at high risk of exposure The level of contact with others is still being clarified, “said an NVSC representative.

“The other person is the driver of the Vilnius Ambulance Station (GMP). The total number of people in contact is 13, 10 of them at work. According to preliminary data, there was no high-risk exposure,” he added.

The other two people not related to fireplaces are employees of private companies.

“Coronavirus was detected in a person who worked in the company’s warehouse in Vilnius. The study was performed before hospitalization. The total number of people in contact is three. Another person diagnosed with the disease drove around the objects, installing refrigeration equipment. The individual risk is identified in each facility visited. So far, two people have had contact, “said R. Lingienė.

According to her, two cases of imports from Poland and two cases of related relatives were confirmed during the previous day.

“The last case on the last day was that a coronavirus was detected in a former patient at Kartena Hospital, but yesterday we also reported this case,” said a representative from NVSC.

The second wave can start earlier

On the last day, 19 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania, which is the highest number of confirmed daily infections in the past month.

According to R. Lingienė, it is still difficult to say whether the risk of a second wave of the virus is visible.

“The epidemiological situation needs to be carefully analyzed. One of the indicators is the epidemic curve, but now I cannot say what it looks like. Since there were not as few cases recorded as last week, we will definitely see that,” said the NVSC representative.

“But there is no denying that the second wave could occur before fall.” It depends a lot on the people how they will follow the recommendations, how they will take responsibility, ”he said.

In Lithuania, a total of 1,752 people were infected with the coronavirus. Currently, 296 people still suffer from the infectious disease, and 1,372 have recovered.

74 people have died since COVID-19, and ten more have died from other causes.
