Lingienė: 87 cases of coronavirus were registered in 65 educational institutions

“As of this morning, as of September 1, 87 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in 65 educational institutions, 61 students are infected, 4 of them of preschool age, as well as 15 employees involved in the educational process and 11 employees who are not they have contact with the students. ” , R. Lingienė said at a press conference held in the Ministry of Health.

According to the NVSC representative, according to preliminary data, a total of 1,136 people have been isolated, but according to her, the situation is constantly changing.

“It was also found that of all educational institutions, COVID-19 infection is negligible in only three. Thus, this infection is carried to other educational institutions from homes, vacations, groups and similar activities ”, he emphasized.

The coronavirus affects 86 health workers

R. Lingienė also presented the latest information on medical cases of COVID-19 infection recorded in September.

“In September, 26 medical cases were recorded in Radviliškis Hospital, 7 medical cases in Raseiniai Hospital, 2 doctors became infected with COVID-19 infection in Kelmė Hospital,” reported R. Lingienė.
“A total of 478 cases of healthcare workers have been recorded in Lithuania since the beginning of the pandemic and 86 workers are still sick,” he added.

The NVSC spokesperson is also pleased that coronavirus outbreaks have not recently been registered in nursing and social care facilities.
