“I don’t remember anything,” Carol K. said, holding her head, adding, “I can’t believe I did.”

For this man, it was probably the worst hangover of his life: the devastated hotel room had to blush not only against the staff of the accommodation establishment, but also against the law enforcement officers. Not to mention that while police investigators were conducting the pre-trial investigation, the husband was prohibited from leaving the residence without a separate permit.

According to the record, on the night of October 31 to November 1 of last year, when Halloween was celebrated, Carol K. “celebrated” alone in a hotel room – in the morning, the employees discovered the destroyed property: the television , the table lamp, the bent stand was broken and a broken lampshade, a broken toilet seat and two broken glasses.

The hotel management calculated that Carol K. had destroyed the property for 681 euros.

“I didn’t even see if anything else was broken, I left right away,” the man avoided a direct answer.

The Marijampole resident assured that he had compensated the hotel for the damage caused and apologized not only to the hotel manager, but also to all employees.

“They forgave me, we reconciled, this fact was a great lesson for me, I promise not to commit more crimes,” the man told investigators.

At the time, the hotel manager told police officers during the pre-trial investigation that he had been forced to seek help because a guest, having destroyed the property, had secretly escaped from the hotel and had not even Tried to negotiate damages.

“The view was terrible, there was a lot of disorder in the room and there were also damaged and broken items,” said the hotel manager, as none of the employees saw the incident that damaged company property.

The police officers also found a girl with a boyfriend who had come to the hotel with Charles K. “He was very drunk, they asked us to accompany him to a hotel where he could spend the night,” said the witness. “My friend and I accompanied him to the nearest hotel, but he did not have an identity document with him, so I agreed to register it in my name, but the man paid for the night with a bank card.”

The woman claimed that Karol K. had been escorted to the hotel room and had been there for about half an hour.

“So we decided to go home, but for unclear reasons, he started following us,” she said. – We accompanied him back to the room so that the drunkard would not be wasted on the streets. But he didn’t want to stay at the hotel, he followed us again, so I had to escort Charles K. back to the room again, but he still wanted to go with us. Finally, my friend and I left the hotel and he was left alone in the rented room. “

The witness assured that by the time she and her boyfriend left the hotel, the room was tidy, with no damaged or broken items.

In a criminal case against Karolis K. for property damage, the prosecutors who supervised the pre-trial investigation decided to end the process with a criminal order: the material of the police investigation was delivered to the court and the court evaluated the information collected.

“The material of the criminal case confirms that Karolis K. intentionally damaged the property of other people,” said Judge Indrė Averkien dijo.

According to her, Karolis K. committed a minor crime, acting with direct intention, confessed to a crime, previously convicted, but still in 2018. He was released from criminal responsibility after reconciliation with the victim, compensated for damages.

In view of the circumstances in which the crime was committed, the court ordered Karolis K. to work 80 hours free of charge during the 8-month period of deprivation of liberty. in health care, social service institutions or non-governmental organizations that care for the elderly, the disabled or other people in need.

“The accused does not have intensive care because he is being tried for the first time, he has not committed any administrative offense, he has committed a minor crime,” said the judge.
