Eddie Van Halen and his brother Alex Van Halen were born in Amsterdam. Both were children of the classically educated musician Jan van Halle. The family moved to California in the 1960s. The artist played the piano, guitar.
The first group was founded by the brothers in 1964. Their group constantly changed their name and line-up until they stuck with the Van Vanen name in 1972.
The band’s debut album was released in 1978. The band rose to the peak of popularity.
The musician played not only with his band. It was he who recorded the iconic guitar solo on Michael Jackson’s Beat It.
Van Halen did not officially disband, but Eddie Van Halen’s health problems continued to hit and paralyze the group. The artist was diagnosed with cancer in 2002.
