Landsbergis, the decision to justify the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is “a moral abyss of Russia, which is being pushed by the current Duma in obedience to the tsar’s will.” According to the professor, if the Duma approves the law, it will issue a “certificate of dictatorship” to Russia.
“The current Russian government is standing next to Hitler. Then he was together, now he says it was fine. <...> It would be good for the world to understand that Russia has signed a new certificate for itself, that it is a fascist state with a nuclear weapon. The world has to decide how it interacts with that fascist state. <...>. Russia goes with a flag of war and Putin is a flag. Unfortunately, the West is unlikely to understand it enough when they bow, kiss, and salute the very old red fascism, ”said V. Landsbergis.
Waiting for a stormy reaction from the world?
The resolution presented to the Seimas by E. Seinger seeks to draw attention to the Russian Duma’s attempt to rehabilitate the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, condemns such actions by the Kremlin, draws the President’s attention to such actions by Russia and calls on the EU and NATO partners to condemn such actions.
“The Russian Federation, which is the successor to and responsible for the Soviet Union, has taken the justification for our disaster, our occupation. This is a truly shocking event,” said Zinger.
Zinger has guaranteed that the Duma will certainly respond to this Duma decision. The Seimas member stated that he had contacted famous world historians, including Timothy Snyder, who, according to E. Zinger, said a stormy reaction to Russia’s actions was expected.
“Putin says it is the largest of the 20th century. The disaster was the collapse of the Soviet Union, led to this systemic action. <...> “This is a systemic turn of the Russian state, which in Yeltsin’s time tried to restore democracy and we had so many friends there,” said the conservative.

According to him, if the document is approved, questions about it should be raised not only in the Lithuanian State Defense Council, but also in the United Nations.

On Tuesday, the Seimas will vote or approve the resolution prepared by E. Zinger “On the attempt of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to rewrite history and question the foundations of modern civilization and international law.”
The law justifying the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact will finally be decided by the Russian Duma in July.
