According to G. Landsbergis, allegations made by the Special Investigation Service that the President of the Lithuanian Business Confederation, Valdas Sutkus, may have influenced legislation on illegal remuneration and swift and categorical public demand by the Union of Peasants and Lithuanian Greens due to pressure on independent institutions.

Landsbergis, who told News Radio on Friday, said the “peasants” were interfering in a pre-trial investigation in which they could become suspects.

“STT has already questioned V. Ąžuolas, a member of the LVŽS faction, whose firm is under questionable legal acts. Specifically, after the Poles proposed bank assets tax (Christian Families Electoral Action Union – ELTA) of Lithuanian Poles, followed by income tax. He relaxed further from seven to five percent during the meeting. The opposition had nothing to do, only during the meeting, the president himself decided to offer relief. Why was it done This? This is the object of research, “said G. Landsbergis.

The LV®S faction in the Seimas addressed the STT this week, asking to explain the statements declared on Wednesday that the President of the Lithuanian Business Confederation V. Sutkus may have acted in the face of the firing of former Minister of Transport and Communications Rokas Masiulis. The group has taken this step, arguing to prevent politicians opposing the ruling from tampering with the issue and the pre-trial investigation of the STT before the election.
