“With the relief of quarantine conditions and the gradual return of normal life to its ways, schools are opening up. We must care for and ensure a healthy environment for students, teachers and other school personnel. Together with the Ministry of Health , we have prepared recommendations on the organization of a safe educational process. We note that returning to schools is not compulsory, but is allowed if the school community so wishes, “the report quotes the Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Algirdas Monkevičius.

According to the ministry, schools will be able to continue working remotely: directing classes, providing educational assistance, counseling, or they will be able to start working on a regular and mixed basis, ensuring the least possible contact of students with other participants in the educational process.

The decision on the form of education (distance or contact) is made by the school itself or its founder.

Avoid different kinds of contacts

According to the ministry, when educating children in schools, it is important to ensure that students have less contact both during and after school.

“Wherever possible, educational activities for students in one class should be organized in the same classroom: if necessary, different teachers should go to the classroom and not students should go to the teacher. Students should not have direct contact with employees whose responsibilities do not include working directly with students, ”the report says.

According to the MESM, the hours of work of the educational institution, the beginning and the end of the lessons in different classes, the time of the breaks should be adjusted as much as possible to differentiate the students in different classes when they enter or leave the institution educational, they use common premises. , eat.

Buffet meals cannot be arranged when meals are made by the students themselves. School leaders are encouraged to consider organizing student meals in classrooms or other educational settings.

It is recommended, if possible, to assign different inputs and outputs to different classes.

It is necessary to maintain a distance of one meter.

According to the Ministry, if educational activities or consultations with students are organized in classrooms or other premises, they must be organized in such a way that a distance of at least one meter is maintained between the seated students. It is recommended to maintain this distance at all times between all people in the educational establishment.

“It is recommended that educational support professionals work with students remotely. If contact inquiries with educational support specialists are arranged, they should be provided individually or worked only with students from the same class at the same time. A distance of at least one meter should be maintained during the consultation. If a safe distance cannot be maintained, reduce the contact time to 15 minutes as much as possible, ”the report said.

Frequently ventilate facilities, disinfect surfaces.

According to the MESM, rooms where classes, counseling, or other educational activities are held must be ventilated before students arrive and during each break.

If a tool is used by more than one student, it must be cleaned and disinfected after each use.

Only students who do not have a fever and do not show acute signs of upper respiratory tract infections may attend school.

Frequently touched surfaces (educational aids, door handles, door frames, table tops, chair supports, stair rails, electrical switches) are cleaned with a surface cleaner at least twice a day.

In addition, if student transportation is organized, a distance of one meter must be maintained between students in the vehicle.

General energy hygiene requirements

According to the Ministry, information on the need to observe personal hygiene (hand hygiene label, cough, sneeze) must be provided on the obligation to wear protective equipment that covers the nose and mouth at the entrance of the educational institution. Adequate facilities for hand hygiene and disinfection must be provided within the facility.

“Like other educational institutions (kindergartens, non-formal educational institutions), the school will be open only to students who do not have a fever, who do not have acute signs of upper respiratory tract infections. The same requirements apply to employees, “the report said.

It is recommended to measure the body temperature of all people who enter the educational institution at the entrance to the school and to prevent fever.

If a student or school worker develops signs of fever, acute upper respiratory tract infections, or other infectious diseases, such as a runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath, during the educational process, they should be isolated immediately, and the Coronavir hotline should be consulted to take additional measures.

“If a student shows signs of illness, his parents are notified immediately,” the ministry said.

According to the report, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports also recommended that schools prepare for the transition from distance education to school education to assess the potential workload of educational staff: how many employees are not at risk and can work voluntarily in contact. How many students whose parents want their children to continue being educated at a distance, how many study in an educational institution.

“When organizing education at school, it is recommended to pay more attention to the development of student health skills, the physical activity of students. As much as possible, it is recommended to organize most of the educational process outdoors in the territory of the institution, keeping the distance between the classes of the students, ”says ŠMSM.

According to the Ministry, it is recommended to give priority to educational assistance to provide children with learning difficulties during quarantine, as well as offering psychological assistance to students who experience psychological crisis, relatives who have coronavirus infection or whose parents work in contact with measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

By easing quarantine conditions, the government allowed elementary students to return to schools starting May 25.

Under the primary and secondary education programs, students can return to educational institutions starting June 1.

Among other things, beginning May 25, students in special schools and students in special (educational) classes in general education schools are also allowed to study.
