According to representatives of Klaipeda City Development Agency “Klaipeda ID”, who communicate directly with major IT companies and manage an active open employment platform on their website, there is currently a shortage of more than 100 multi-level IT specialists in the port city. “It reaches up to 3,500 Eur”, said the press release.

International companies such as Exadel, Devbridge, Omega and companies established in Lithuania are looking for employees: Telesoft, Whatagraph, Interactio, whose services are already used by most European and American clients.

With the expansion of the Baltic Tech Park of Innovation and Business Valley and the start of construction of the Baltic Digital Innovation Center, there is a direct shortage of talent, both in the search for new members of the Baltic Tech Park team and in planning activities of the Baltic Digital Innovation Center. Therefore, after a long search for local talent, it was decided to go the extra mile and invite professionals from the surrounding states.

According to Ignas Aničas, Director of Innovation at Baltic Tech Park, a communication project has been started with the aim of presenting Klaipėda internationally as an open city full of opportunities to live, work and relax: “With the rapid growth of the digital economy of Lithuania, specialists in this field are becoming a key limiting factor. shortage. Universities often do not adapt to the dynamically changing technological environment, so Lithuania should make more active use of talent attraction opportunities. We decided to start a project, in the scope of which we could start to talk internationally about the opportunities Klaipeda provides in the field of IT and, of course, the quality of work-play balance in Klaipeda ”.

The Baltic Digital Innovation Center offers more than 2,000 square meters M. meter. space with 3D printing, robotics, digital design, electronics, neuromarketing, metal and wood processing, IT laboratories, where members and clients of the Baltic Digital Innovation Center will be able to carry out tests using the most advanced technologies.

Companies working in the cooperative area of ​​Light House, which has been operating in the Baltic Tech Park Valley area for the second year in a row, face the same problem of a lack of competent staff: we have an active start-up community in the Light House areas. We often hear that teams take half a year, sometimes even longer, to find a new hire. This is a huge brake and untapped opportunity for business growth. Therefore, having started talking about it out loud, we hope to receive talents from Latvia, Belarus and Poland.
